St Albans performing arts school, Theatrix, is staging their annual showcase at the Abbey Theatre from 21 – 23 March 2019 and it promises to be a cocktail of excitement.
This year’s showcase is called ‘The Plays the Thing’ and it explores “play” and “the play” through the eyes of children and young people. Come and be delighted and entertained by over 100 students, from ages 5 – 19, performing a medley of scripted scenes, adaptations, original writing, dance, movement, singing, sketches and improvisations.
This year one of our students is making their directorial debut starring their very own teacher. There promises to be something for everyone.
If you are aged between 5 and 19 and have a passion for drama or musical theatre then Theatrix is for you. Come along and see what Theatrix students get up to and it could be you on stage next year!
The showcase gives all the students, who attend Theatrix drama and musical theatre classes, as well those who have private lessons, the opportunity to perform on the main stage of the Abbey Theatre.
Performances are at 7.30pm on 21 – 23 March with a matinee at 3.30pm on Saturday 23 March.
Younger students (aged 5-13) will be starring on Thursday evening and Saturday matinee
Older students (aged 13-19) will be starring on Friday and Saturday evening performances.
Tickets are £10 (£8.50 concession) and available from the Abbey Theatre Box Office by ringing 01727 857861 or online https://www.abbeytheatre.org.uk/whats-on/the-plays-the-thing/
