First World War Centenary Event 3rd August 2014
St Albans CND in collaboration with other local groups is planning a commemorative event on Sunday 3 August to mark the centenary of the outbreak of World War One and to remember the estimated 190 million war dead during the following 100 years. Our members will begin the event adjacent to the war memorial near to St.Peters Church at 2.30pm, with laying of flowers at the memorial and a few words to start the event.
St Albans Schools reopen!
After two days of being closed, St Albans schools have reopened today.
This morning children were greeted by icy footpaths and no less snow than yesterday! Many walked (and some sledged) to school while others were taken by car.

The great “Fisher Fifty Project” launch
Founded in 1965, St John Fisher Primary School, St Albans is looking forward to celebrating its 50th birthday. And in conjunction with this great landmark, they intend to extend the school buildings with a plan (named by a pupil) known as the Fisher Fifty Project.
