Lower Red Lion

This two-bar 17th century coaching inn is located beside the Roman Verulamium and Cathedral. As well as excellent guest beers, there are Dutch, Czech, Belgium beers and malt whiskies. Real cider is served in summer. Chess night is on Monday and the Sunday roasts are recommended!

White Lion

This traditional 16th century two-bar pub is a short walk from the cathedral. Six hand pumps dispense two regulars plus four guests from the Punch Taverns range. There is a barbeque, patanque court and children’s play area in the large garden. Home-cooked food and good music are also on offer!
