If you were at the St Albans' Market last saturday, you may have found yourself seduced by the tunes of one of the top musicians of the West End.

Help St Albans CP to avoid a cat-astrophe!

Have you ever considered fostering a cat? I have just seen Poppy, a beautiful black cat who needs a loving home. Poppy has been rescued by the St Albans Cat Protection and is just one of many stray cats who need a caring family.

Earthworks works!

One day I curiously drove into Hixberry Lane (St Albans) to see where it led to! A few buildings, polytunnels and vegetable rows later, I realised that I was at an establishment called Earthworks!

The Flat Whites have arrived in St Albans

t is with great joy that I can announce that Flat White coffees can now to be enjoyed in at least three (maybe more?) local cafes! Initially, they were only to be found at the Merchant Tea and Coffee Co but recently they have appeared on the menus of Costa and Starbucks! Costa’s (skinny) Flat White was absolutely perfect. Starbuck’s Flat White also looked and tasted great but was only available in full-fat milk.

Taking the pizza?

I've been to Pizza Express on Verulam Road many times in the last few years. It seemed the right thing to do. I put up with that nagging feeling that the pizzas get smaller and the prices just get bigger. They do, or did, a really good pizza, in a reasonable atmosphere.

Welcome back to Starbucks and a brand new New Look!

In August this year, we experienced the closure of Borders Bookstore in Colney Fields Retail Park. Along with that, the popular Starbucks Café closed too. This weekend, the fashion store, New Look has opened in its place.

Wilco Johnson Band and Glenn Tilbrook at the Alban Arena March...

The Alban Arena is a venue with a rich history of welcoming touring acts, some of which have gone on to world-wide fame - such as Dire Straits, who played there in 1978. I saw the legendary Rory Gallagher there in 1988, more recently The Waterboys and The Gorillaz have graced the stage. It is maybe a sign of the times that more tribute bands than original artists perform there these days. So when two of the UKs most respected musical artists were coming to the Alban Arena it was likely to be an evening not to be missed!
